Umpiring
All umpires must be qualified to a level appropriate for the type of netball being played.
The Umpiring Secretary is responsible for ensuring that relevant umpiring courses and information are available to all members of the GCNA. Courses are organised throughout the season where it is felt necessary. Anyone wishing to be considered for a qualification must contact the Umpiring Secretary to arrange for a test. The test will consist of a practical and a written test.

Umpires holding the Beginner Award
Important reminder to all Beginner Umpires who gained their award in 2003 - this award only lasts for 4 years. In order to continue umpiring you will either need to progress to the C Award or re-take your Beginner’s award.

Umpiring Qualifications
All umpires must be qualified to a level appropriate for the type of netball being played.
The qualifications required for netball matches played in the Gloucestershire leagues are:
- Divs 4, 5, 6, 7: Beginner Award
- Divs 2, 3: C Award
- Div 1: C Plus Award
N.B. The old “Preliminary” award is equivalent to the C Award, but if you wish to progress to the B Award, then you will need to be tested at the C Award level.
