High 5 netball in primary schools

Gloucestershire primary schools participate in five district leagues, playing the High 5 format of the game. The districts within Gloucestershire are Cheltenham, Cotswold, Forest, Gloucester and Stroud. The winners of each district play in the County High 5 Final.

High 5 is a modified version of the game designed for girls and boys aged 9-11 (years 5-6). The main differences in High 5 from standard 7-a-side netball are:

  • Five players on the court
  • Other squad members take on the roles of timekeeper, score, umpire and centre pass marker
  • Squad rotation
  • Size 4 Netball
  • 9ft post
  • 4 seconds to pass the ball
  • Normal court markings - up to a full sized court
  • 4 quarters of 6 minutes

England Netball is currently offering free membership for the first 12 months to primary schools who want to be involved in High 5 Netball.

More information and resources on High 5 are available from England Netball.
