Bateman and Per Ardua

The Bateman and Per Ardua competitions are knockout, handicap competitions which run throughout the season. Divisions 1-3 play in the Bateman competition and divisions 4-7 in the Per Ardua competition. Both competitions culminate in finals which are played at the end of the season.

Each team is given a handicap of goals which they start each match with. The number of goals allocated as the handicap depends upon a team's position in the league at the start of the competition. This "evens" out the chances of the teams and allows for closer competition. It also gives lower-placed teams a greater opportunity of winning against higher-placed teams.

Divisional tournaments

Teams can also enter the divisional tournaments which take place before the start of each season.

Rednock Rascals win the Per Ardua Plate

Congratulations to Rednock Rascals who beat Severn Stars 50-46 in a thrilling final, which was even until the final few minutes. 

Both teams gave it everything they had for the whole 60 minutes - well done to both teams.

Gloucester Ladies B take the Bateman Cup

Congratulations to Gloucester Ladies B who are the winners of the Bateman Cup, having beaten Challengers A 50-43 (initial handicap of 24-12).

Results of the Bateman and Per Ardua Semi Finals are detailed below:-

Bateman

  • Challengers A beat Old Chelts 2 - 51-41
  • Gloucester Ladies B beat Hucclecote Lightening - 49-47

Per Ardua

  • The Freestylers beat Bishops Cleeve Fillies B - 67-45
  • Rednock Rascals beat Tommies Springers 50-39

Therefore the finals will be Challengers vs Gloucester Ladies in the Bateman, and The Freestylers vs Rednock in the Per Ardua.  A date for the finals is being looked at with all team involved.
