Bateman & Tournaments

This is a knockout, handicap competition which runs throughout the season. Each team is given a handicap of goals which they start each match with. The number of goals allocated as the handicap depends upon a team's position in the league at the start of the competition (e.g. Div 1 teams are given fewer goals, Div 7 teams are given the most goals). This "evens" out the chances of the teams and allows for closer competition. It also gives lower-placed teams a greater opportunity of winning against higher-placed teams.

First round losers go into the Per Ardua (Plate) competition and both competitions culminate in a final to be played at the end of the season.

Congratulations to those who won their First Round matches in December – with 3 matches going to Golden Goal, it certainly was well contested!

Attached are the full results for the first round.

The second round will take place on Saturday 24th January at Bentham, and the draw and timings for this round are also attached.

Reminder – you still have to provide an umpire for this round, and if possible, a scorer (not mandatory though).

The Bateman competition is well underway, with Preliminary Round matches taking place on the 11th October. Attached are the results, which still need to be verified with match result cards before the draw for the First Round of the Bateman and Per Ardua can be made - this will be done as soon as possible.

Reminder for your diaries - the First Round will take place on Saturday 13th December!
