About the Junior League

The Junior League is comprised of U12, U13, U14 and U16 sections and matches are played at Bentham once a month (on average) on Sundays.

Winners and runners-up of the U16 section played before Christmas go through to the Regional Junior league, to be played after Christmas.

The winners and runners-up of the U14 league enter the Regional U14 Tournament held annually in March.

The Junior League is sponsored by Bentham Country Club.

The U16 squads played an exciting Fast Net tournament in which goals can be scored outside the shooting circle and coaches strategically decide when to nominate a Power Play quarter in which double points are scored. Substitutes are also allowed at any time. Old Chelts A won on goal difference with Hucclecote U15B in second place.

The U12 tournament also produced some very close matches with the two top teams, Old Chelts and Tommies on equal points and the next two teams, Cirencester and Randwick A only two points behind. Old Chelts won on goal average.

The U13 squads played their next round of league matches and will complete their remaining fixtures on 28 March along with the U16s and U12s. Old Chelts and Tommies are in 1st and 2nd places in the U13 section.

The latest rounds of junior fixtures  for U14 and U12 age groups were played today. The U14 league has now been completed. Congratulations to Hucclecote A and Old Chelts as winner and runner-up. These two teams will now compete in the NSW U14 Regional Tournament at Dorcan Recreation Complex, Swindon on 21 March 2010. It would be great to see supporters at this tournament. Good luck to both teams.

The last two rounds of junior fixtures are on 7 and 28 March 2010. Fixture lists are attached. There will be an U12 tournament and an U16 Fast Net Tournament  on 7 March as well as U13 fixtures. Fast Net was introduced and played by international teams last season. More information and rules can be read on the England Netball website. Rules to be implemented for our Fast Net tournament are attached. It hoped that the U16 non-regional players will have some fun and enjoy this new type of netball.
