Gloucestershire success at Regional Schools Tournament

Six Gloucestershire school teams travelled to Bournemouth today to compete in the Netball South West Regional Schools Tournament, having successfully progressed from the County rounds earlier this season. Representing the County were Farmors and Cleeve (U14), Pate's and Dean Close (U16), and Hartpury College and Bournside (U19).

In the U14 section, Farmors and Cleeve came 6th and 3rd in their groups; in the U16 section Dean Close and Pate's were 4th and 3rd; in the U19 section Bournside came 5th while Hartpury, after winning their group, went on to win a nail-biting semi final against Millfield 10-9 before taking the U19 title, beating Petroc, Devon 16-7 in the final.

James Thomas and Gina Pearce were asked to umpire the U16 and U14 finals, while Sara Constantine umpired the U16 3rd/4th play-off and Alex Hope umpired an U14 semi final. Well done to them all!

Hartpury will now represent Gloucestershire and the South West region at the National Schools Finals on Saturday 19th March. We wish them every success!
