Christmas Hamper Scamper appeal update

Gloucestershire Netball proudly supported the Hamper Scamper appeal for the second time in December 2015. Thank you for all your help and your donations of food this year!

The club who collected the most in value (divided by number of players in the club) this year, winning a match ball and two training balls is Tigers Netball Club.

In total, we collected enough food for 10 hampers! Thank you to all those clubs who supported us, including: Survivors, Nomads, Tigers, Gloucester Ladies, United, Hucclecote and one hamper from the Gloucestershire Netball committee!

The County Community Project (CCP) is a charity which helps disadvantaged children, young people, families and vulnerable adults throughout Gloucestershire. Hamper Scamper is CCP’s Christmas-giving scheme, providing gifts and food hampers for those disadvantaged groups. This year over 900 food hampers went out with over a thousand gifts too.

Hucclecote U16 finalists at the Gloucestershire Sports Awards

Hucclecote's U16 Panthers team attended the prestigious Gloucestershire Sports Awards last Thursday. They were nominated as finalists in the Junior Team of the Year category.

The awards were presented by the BBC's John Inverdale (pictured) at the Hatherly Manor Hotel. The other nominees in the category were Gloucester Hartpury Junior Women’s Quadruple Scull, Abbeymead Rover Under 12 Reds and Bournside School Year 10 (Under 15 Sports Team).

The team were well represented on the night on a table of nine. Hucclecote coach Gilly Salter said, "The girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were in awe of some of the winners. We didn't win, but being finalists made it very special and we were honoured to be part of such a worthy event. I would like to pass on our thanks to Gloucestershire Netball for their support towards two tickets for the evening."
