Netball is bouncing back in Tetbury

Enjoyed playing netball at school? Stopped playing and would love to start again? Looking for a fun, new activity? If you answered yes to any of the above then Tetbury's Back to Netball programme is just what you're looking for.

Back to Netball is designed to provide a gentle introduction to the sport for female players over 16 years of age. Sessions are coach led and cover basic skill development and court play. The emphasis of the sessions is learning new skills and having fun whilst playing.

The first of the ten weekly sessions is Thursday 3rd November at 10.15am - 11.15am at Cotswold Leisure Tetbury, GL8 8AE. Experienced coach and player Katie Noonan is running the sessions.

Hucclecote and Old Chelts U16 teams win through to Regional U16 league

The Gloucestershire U16 tournament was held on Sunday 25 September at Bentham between 8 teams from Hucclecote, Old Chelts, Cirencester, Randwick and Tommies Netball clubs, to find the two teams who will go through into the NSW regional league.  The winners were Hucclecote A who won all their matches, with Old Chelts as runners-up, narrowly edging out a strong Hucclecote C team.

The regional league starts in November, and we wish Huccleote A and Old Chelts A every success at this level.

The U14 tournament was also held at the same time as a competition for 10 teams split into 2 groups. The undefeated winners of their respective groups were Randwick A and Old Chelts A, who competed in the final which was evenutally won by Old Chelts with a score of 12-9.

Charity mixed netball tournament planned for next year

A mixed netball tournament held on 10 July in aid of Cancer Research UK at Pate's Grammar School, Cheltenham was such a success that it is hoped to hold the tournament again next year.

Rachel Sullivan and her sisters Kate and Emily would like to thank all netballers, umpires and helpers for their support. The event raised over £4,300 for charity. The three decided to hold the tournamant in memory of their grandmother Jean, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year.

Rachel hopes that next year the event can be longer and include more time for teams to rest between games.

A big thank-you to all.
