James Thomas gains his A Award umpiring qualification

James Thomas

Netball South West and Gloucestershire are delighted to congratulate James Thomas who recently passed his A Award umpiring qualification. This is no mean feat with James having only passed his C Award in 2008 and his B Award in 2009 and all at the age of under 25!

James, the son of Gloucestershire Chair Lesley Thomas, has been 'brought up on netball' and it was therefore no surprise when James showed a great understanding of umpiring. His willingness to learn and his enthusiasm saw him fast tracked, with particular support from Barbara Warburton and Claire Daly, and combined with umpiring training during the last couple of seasons with Premiership Division One Leaders Hucclecote, put James in a good and confident place prior to his test.

Netball South West and the Gloucestershire Community would like to wish James every success in the future.
