The May Dent tournament was held at Cheltenham Ladies College on Saturday 18th May. Twelve school teams from around the county took part in the event which is held annually in memory of the former mayor of Cheltenham and chair of Gloucestershire Counity Netball Association.

The winners and runners up of the two sections played off in semi-finals to give the eventual finalists, High School for Girls in Gloucester and Pate's Grammar School. A tense final saw Pate's triumph for the second year running, to the delight of Caroline Mackenzie, who is ending her coaching role after many years' association with the school as a teacher and netball coach, "this will be my last May Dent tournament, and it is great to leave on a high note".

Gloucestershire were invited along with Shropshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire to take part in a Severn Stars U17 Inter County Tournament at Worcester Arena today.

Hosted by the Severn Stars Senior Squad, athletes took part in a masterclass of defending, shooting or mid court, followed by competitive game play in the afternoon.  Glos athletes won each of their games comfortably and came top of the leaderboard with 15 points. Shooting player of the day was awarded to our own Alex Baird - well done Alex!

Jo Baker, County Performance Lead said "So proud of all the girls, a great effort by all and thanks to parents and supporters for cheering us all on!"

GCNA are looking for a new Performance Lead to manage the Performance Pathway within the County and ensure the effective delivery of the England Netball programme.
